Fred Beisse taught Computer Information Technology courses at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon, where he designed the curriculum for a degree program in Computer User Support.  He has taught courses in
    -  computer science
    -  computer programming
    -  project management
    -  applications software
    -  business applications
    -  information analysis and visualization
He has over 30 years of experience in  computer industry management positions and has been responsible for end-user  support, computer services, computer facilities planning and computer center administration.

The first edition of the Computer User Support textbook was published in 1999, followed by the second edition in 2001, the third edition in 2004, the fourth edition in September, 2009, and the fifth edition in 2012. The newest, sixth edition, was published in September, 2014.
